Come and be a part of our golfing family where we have Membership options available to suit everyone.
You will be joining a warm friendly Club with an active membership offering a range of competitive fixtures and plenty of opportunity for social golf.
Set in the heart of peaceful picturesque North West Essex we have two excellent courses which between them, cater for all abilities.
The 18-Hole Lakes Course was designed by 3 times Open Championship winner, Sir Henry Cotton, and was opened by Peter Alliss in 1989. You will find this championship course both challenging and enjoyable.
We also have a scenic 9-Hole Meadows Course which is ideal for beginners who intend to improve their golf and make the transition to the Lakes Course. The Meadows is popular with those who wish to play on a less demanding course.
Membership of the Lakes course automatically entitles you to play on the Meadows and many of our members do just that if the main course is busy or if they just wish to hone their skills. You can find out more about the courses under the Course heading.
As well as the adult sections, we have an Intermediate Section catering for players of ages 18-32 as well as a very strong Junior Section at the Club.
Our juniors receive considerable financial support from our Sir Henry Cotton Bursary, an annual event which has raised more than £100,000 since the inception of the Club in 1989.
We have a fill and varied program of competitions on both courses for Ladies, Men and Juniors. Prizes are divided between the competitions to accommodate the high, medium and low handicappers. In addition, there are many mixed events, often on Bank Holiday weekends.
Our Senior Section, the Gosfield Gentleman (or the GGs as they are called) is particularly strong. they have their own competitions on Mondays and Thursdays and play many friendly matches against other clubs.
Thanks in a large part to our current Club Professional, Helena Holland, we have a burgeoning Ladies section of all ages who are starting to play golf. They are following the tried and tested path of starting playing on the Meadows and improving their game enough to transition to the Lakes. Ladies roll-up day is played Tuesday mornings and is open to any ladies that want to play among friendly company. There are also social evenings specifically for the Ladies and have been a roaring success since their recent inception.
Social golf is extremely popular here at Gosfield Lake and there are a number of roll-ups on both courses. These provide a valuable opportunity for new members to meet up and make new friends. We also have a number of friendly matches against other clubs on a home and away basis. Whatever type of golf you like, you can find it here at Gosfield Lake.
To top it all off, our Membership Rates are extremely competitive compared to other clubs locally.
